Kimberly Goes To The Wig Shop Poem by James P. Roberts

Kimberly Goes To The Wig Shop

When she cut her hair short
I was not amused
All her Facebook friends
said how nice you look
sporty sexy trendy
I said you look
like an angry red rooster
To spite me you went
to a wig shop
& tried on various styles
but you never got
the look you wanted
& told me to go
@#! * myself you
didnt need my approbation
my what a big word
but so accurate in these
days of egalitarianism
Do what you wanna do
no matter what the consequences
I said go ahead
it's your life I can't
change it & I still love you
But some day I will go
to that same wig shop
& try on your hair
sticking out my tongue
at the silly old man
in the fogged up mirror
