King Charles Iii coronation Day Poem by Wendy Head

King Charles Iii coronation Day

Your Majesty! You did us proud
On your Coronation Day
Your humility and humbleness
Shone through in every way

The whole day so emotional
(But you kept it all together!)
The only thing not in control
Was our famous British weather!

The Choir, Fanfares, Regal Robes
Swords, and Orb and Crown
The ancient Coronation Chair
History made, as you sat down

Imagine all those Kings and Queens
Who have sat upon this chair?
This was the precious moment …
Made the whole world stop and stare

Your Sacred Oath with Holy Oil
Took place behind 3 screens
This time was' just for you and God
(Not for public view it seems)

And as the Crown was held up high
A sharp intake of breath
The Recognition you will Serve …
Your People! Until death

Thank you Sir! For Everything
I know you'll do your best
And as this Day draws to a close..
Please take a well earned rest!
