'Kiss Me, ' She Demanded (Recommended)

Burning alive
Amidst this vicious fire
Her soul
Screamed out in agony
The sky collapsed
On her shoulders
The world slipped away
From beneath her feet

In that moment
Her inner whim
Sprang to life
Once again

Ah, that whim
The demon
Buried inside her
For oh so long
Rejoiced now
Laughed at her
Mocked
The soul less creature
She had now become

Where is the love you dreamt of
He bellowed
Where is the part of your soul

Ignited
Ablaze
She rose
From this dearth of life
Inside her
Like a phoenix
She was reborn
From her own ashes

“Kiss me, ” she demanded
“You sure? ” he helped

In that moment
She chose
To accept the lifeless ashes
As her permanent abode

Her terrifying demon
Now her only companion
She embraced him
To prevent herself
From sliding
That beautiful cold knife
Across her wrist
