Kiss Of Life Poem by Alex Rosak

Kiss Of Life

Rating: 4.5

You light up my sky
With stars like
The many facets of
An unblemished diamond
In whose depths I can
Lose myself
So that I become less
A whole than
Disassembled pieces
Thrown apart
To habit universes
That are entities
Of your conglomerate.

When you leave me
I am a ship set free from its
Anchor cruising in a
Barren sea with an empty
Chart the crew
Gone to the bad the captain
Gone mad.

When you return to me
The sum of my parts
Seems to add to more than I can be
More than a man indees
All creation in one seed.

Sometimes the merest hint of friction
Can undo our labyrinthine knot
But we know that the hands that retie it are
As perfected in the art as the sailors of old
Who did it my necessity
As do we.

More often though
As you infuse my consciousness
Yours is the air in my lungs
The absense of which is death
So stay with me
My lifebreath.
