Kitty Poem by Alexander Romanov

Kitty

I wander along the streets,
Wind in careless beats,
With measured steps, I pace my way,
Eyes peer into the dim light's play.

My body feels the icy chill,
Longing and hope beyond my fill,
Wrapped in a duvet, the truth I see
Naked lovers, just you and not me.

The ground slips away beneath my feet,
Kitty, please remember me,
As the world begins to retreat,
Hold on to my memory.

A year or two, time will pass
Tears of the sea and river will amass
Till they're nothing but a stream
And then gone, like a dream

Pain will come, and pain will go,
Blowing on wounds, just for show,
Smiling to hide the misery,
July's sun not for me.

The ground slips away beneath my feet,
Kitty, please remember me,
As the world begins to retreat,
Hold on to my memory.
