Knife Kisses Poem by Li'l One

Knife Kisses

The blade catches the light
Shining like a dragon’s treasure
The blade kisses my inner thigh
For my scars are hidden away
From prying and questioning eyes
Like my damaged mind
That no plaster cast can cure
No one can see my hurt
Or how broken I am

The coldness of the blade registers more
Than the knife prick
For the pain of my torment and anguish
Feels so much greater
A red ruby jewel appears
The red dot not the end of a sentence
But the beginning of my release
Transference of Pain of the mind
Into physical, manageable pain

Gravity takes hold
The line drips and weeps
Unlike me, for I am empty
No more tears blind these eyes
No more tears wet these cheeks
Life hollowed me out
And as the blood washes down the drain
Going the same way as my self control
For a moment I am freed from my pain
