Knight In Shining Armor Poem by Teagan Kai

Knight In Shining Armor

Walking in a
Field on a
Sunny spring day-
Wild flowers
Blue
Yellow
Violet
Intertwined with tall, swaying
Grass.
Floppy sun hat shields my eyes
And my sun dress—
pastel yellow with vines and red roses
sways in the breeze.
Come to a creek-
Stones pave the bottom
Skip happily
Water splashing all around
Flows into a lake where
Stepping stones raise from
Nowhere
To meet my feet
In the distance I see a
Island- with a castle laden upon it’s shores
Roses of every color
Climbing up the walls
Stony path outlined in daisies lead to
Wooden ogre door
Barely push it and it flings open
It’s so bright, I shield my eyes
Filled with red roses and jewels is the room
Red velvet chair lies in the center
Projected on the wall:
a slideshow of all the good times
Mahogany box sits in the chair
I pick it up and sit down
The hinges creek as I lift the lid.
Inside is a note and it reads:
“I’ll love you forever and always. –
your knight in shining armor.”
Feelings of gratification and peace flood me
I know that somewhere out there
is my one true love
