Knock At The Door Poem by Sunday Igwebuike

Knock At The Door

As the ant and his friend grasshopper, Were getting to the stage, To declare their mission, The iron gate imposing, Guards red alert, Cold shivering down the spine, Going back was no longer plausible, For being labelled a spy, A worst fate! As the ant approached the gate, Grasshopper excused himself, Claiming a messenger to the ant. Ant knocks at the door, Truth opens, Success speaks and offers a seat, While wealth stands and shakes hands. So said that wealth, Is more than we can see!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It is easy to dream, sqirm and make noise, but on the day of presentation, the faint heart often dissolve, while the brave tug on. Here the grasshopper, a jolly good fellow fell flat on his face, while the ant, experienced and wise embraced the day, siezed the opportunity and came out smoking.
