Knocking On The Past's Door... Poem by Ila Manish

Knocking On The Past's Door...

Rating: 4.5

Crouched down over an album -
A story in smiles.
Meandering from the river mouth,
Rainbow reflections shine up
From the sea of time.
Whirlwind of hugs and kisses
Lapping at the shore,
Digging deep into the sand,
Erecting castles - broken and buried;
Knocking on the Past's door.

Photos - autographs of long-gone authors,
Capturing what even words cannot.
Smiles - evoked, that the Past
Seemed to have missed.
Photos - faded; yet,
That old sparkle - forever lasts.
Singing songs long-forgotten,
Waltzing to once-loved tunes,
Embracing a past,
The Future cannot wipe away.
