Knowledge Base Poem by Claude Simpson

Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base is such:
We may fill the brain
with information.
We may satisfy our needs
and egos.

We can never acquire,
retain and intellectually
process all information
in this infinite
knowledge realm.

We cannot completely
expend
the infinite range of
knowledge
that surrounds us.

Yes, we make assumptions
and conjectures
but... can we say for
sure that we know
everything?

Try as we may,
we cannot fill to capacity
the volume of knowledge
and wisdom that we
desperately seek.

The academia is such
that even in a specialized
field of study;
one cannot exhaust
all that is there to know.

A field of study
cannot be filled with all
the essential and related
content materials
to be consumed.

Knowledge is
multidimensional;
content is never-ending.
We organize materials by
means of topics and sub-topics.

We put limits on
content materials, objectives
and goals...
mainly because of
certain constraints.

We establish requirements
and set criteria
for completion of
academic courses and programs
but all in all learning continues.
