Knowledge Gained Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Knowledge Gained

What is lost as the child grows?
Replacing what every child knows.
Facts and attitude fill the reservoir.
Teaching how to efficiently ignore.

The child had an open mind with trust.
A door shuts and a brain begins to rust.
Thoughts begin to march to a rhythm.
Scored by notes encouraging cynicism.
