Kosovo Poem by Saleh Badrah

Kosovo

Sitting here in careless comfort,
Far away from their affliction,
Reading news and viewing pictures,
Rambling through the Internet,
While they're there sustaining horror,
Slaughter, torture, rape and terror,
Children, men and women gathered,
Looking haggard, lost and shattered,
With no food to hush their hunger,
Walking miles in search of shelter,
Freezing in the freezing winter,
At the turn of the millennium,
Let us pause a while and ponder:
Is not man a cruel creature?
