Kypria Poem by Nazrana Chowdhury

Kypria

oh! the ancient beauty,
- Helen of Troy!
who lives in Homer's tale.....
like a thought, a guess,
a tormenting sigh!
an able writer's creation,
enough to invoke,
long sleeping imagination!
you are a beautiful lie!

you got everything...
yet you enjoyed nothing....
your sad face tells it all! ! !

A life of sarcasm,
that flowed out of Homer's pen........
Paris's possession..one of many? ,
the only one he didn't returned......
and left Sparta to burn.......

You are the ancient disgraced beauty,
Leda and Zeus's cursed daughter,
the bone of Trojan war,
adorned with the bloods of many,
as accounted in ancient literature.
who sailed to troy,
in the darkest hour of the night...?
no one knows, no one around?
with her love, a coward knight!
