The Europeans that came here
In the first four-hundred years since North America's 'discovery'
Were immigrants to an already occupied land
In short course they laid waste
For thousands of years, the first inhabitants were stewards
Carefully curating the continent
After annihilation, assigned antipathy
Freedom
England eliminated
Equality for all
Except blacks
Women, non-christians, the poor
Wars
Lots of wars
Class divide, an increasing exponent
Capitalism, commercialism
Education appalling; a control mechanism
History; one sided on purpose
The worst war criminals of all time
The ' good guys'
With just 4% of world population
We have the most prisoners
(For profit, racist agenda)
Fourteenth in education
Forty-ninth in health care
Second in ignorance
101st in peace
(There are only 195 countries)
46th in freedom of the press
24th in literacy
Only #1 in wealth (among the elite)
Consumption and waste
We were never truly good
Let alone great
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
because of all of those 'Great' is a misnomer.
