Labyrinth Of A Broken Heart Poem by Troy Clark

Labyrinth Of A Broken Heart

Rating: 5.0

You had my heart in hands
You made it throb, but you
grasped to hard

The nightmares I had
about your touch
(Simple and smooth)
It etched love into my heart

I thought, perhaps
too much, about your
simple curves and pale appearance-

About that time you
cried on my shoulders
It meant the world to me

Now I fear something-

I told you how I felt
How much I loved you and
needed you in my life
I wanted just to know you more

(What makes you cry)
(Why did you come to me)

(How are we so different) -

I learned all these questions
which made me happy
But because of how I felt
it ruined everything

Now, I stand here, waiting
in the dark, bounded by your
smile, by your eyes, by
the very tears that you cried
In hopes that you would forgive
me for at least trying

I have but few things to say now-

Laugh at me, tell me how pathetic
I was to care, forgive me for trying
to comfort you, but most
Of all, just know, that you
hurt me-

Laugh at me-Laugh at me
If only that would make me forget you

I dedicate this poem to the girl that hurt me the most
