Lalia Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Lalia

Rating: 5.0

Like infant and mom's breast
Like toddler, bottle, nipple
I cry and cry for our pond
Little pond, playground
Where water was shallow
We went there like heroes
We played with frogs
The tiny small ones
Still black; they had tails
(Like spoons, not parents)
They grew hind legs first
Then front and went tails
Tiny frogs were cute
It was hard to catch them
I miss pond, shallow water
I miss my sense of pride
'I'm someone, a hero'

I miss those little lizards
We tried to catch them
They were smart, left the tail
Tail crawled like a worm
We had lost, lizard gone

I miss that little pond
It was named Lalia

I'm alone in this sea
Rare's friend, true heart
Everyone is slave
To his work and her job
Parenthood and childhood
All buried; they are dead
Let's settle in grave
Hoping there will be friends
The ones who understand
Have feelings extend hand.
