Lantern, Lantern on the wall,
Your light is appreciated by us all,
Flickering through the dark night,
You chase away those who fright.
You shine with a radiant glow,
With a warmth all should know.
You are my sight and my eye,
I hate to see you die.
Then I begin to moan,
As I grope around and groan,
You twinkle like a star,
Your light is never very far,
You make the room look bright,
From deep within the night.
Lantern, Lantern on the wall,
A light appreciated however small.
