Larger Than Life Poem by Hamsa Elfarash

Larger Than Life

For the moon never beams without saying goodnight,
For the sun never shines without holding you tight,
If I could wish upon a star,
I wish you won't go so far.

Your hands left a hand print on my heart,
I was amused you were so smart,
You didn't make me feel you were apart,
Yes, you're my life guard.

Then a beam of light shone,
And my love to you has grown,
You filled my life with laughter,
You are the best, master.

Grandpa I need you always here,
And I promise I'll be no where but near,
I won't have even a tear,
Now, I have no fear.

You taught me how to build a fire,
You gave me hope and desire,
You taught me how to build a chair,
You told me that life wasn't fair.

You taught me how to be just like you,
And I only now knew,
Whatever we're being through,
We try to look for a better view.

You watched every basketball game,
And treated me like fame,
You bought me ice-cream,
And listened to my every dream.

Life is full of beautiful things,
I believe you must be as happy as kings,
You made me try all the swings,
You deserve the best rings.

I talked to you everyday,
We never ran out of things to say,
Without you I don't know what I'd be,
But one thing for certain, I wouldn't be me.

You taught me to always be strong,
We were together since I was young,
And I promise we'll stay along,
You taught me to never do something wrong.

You once told me happiness is doing what you like,
Sleeping, walking, running, even riding a bike,
I want to tell you, you're the best ever,
I do love you like forever.
