Last Line First Poem by Ricky Jackson

Last Line First

...and as the angels gasped for air and healing and strength and relief from this choking emotion of fear and sadness...it was over. bittersweet.....

Heaven wept for one last time.
After centuries of shame.
The prestige was almost gone from that
which the definition was birthed by.

And as the angels trembled from fear,
A new emotion which was unrecognizable until then.
And as the darkness smiled.
And as the world was blinded.

And as The People were hidden
And as His People shut themselves away.
And as His Saints grew more numb.

He locked Himself away.
Only for the second time in history.

But this time was brand new.
Nowhere to be found on these streets of jewels.
The clouds were empty.
Sadness, Fear, Shame, foreign til this day.

Darkness was aware.
But in the heat,
It slipped the mind.

Convincing the wrong was right,
And tearing families apart.
Nothing was different,
Hate is routine.

Heaven wasn't new.
But when it opened for the first,
The beauty when put against the darkness of this Hatred....
Lit up the sky.

And on the day that televangelists couldn't wait for,
My God cried.
