Last Thoughts Poem by Isabella Night

Last Thoughts

Hearts bleed while songs continue to be sung...
Smiles going on all around, but exasperated words are yet to be heard...
Grabbed by the throat; all the happiness strained from my voice...
Hiding, hiding, hiding...
No more ready-or-not; I'll never come...
I am simply a visible shadow to a world that is blind...
The construction worker quits; refusing to rebuild what breaks day by day...
A broken mirror reflects the one who seeks it...
The sweetest disposition is the one that is earned by the pure...
Love - one could only dream to experience a fairy tale such as this...
The prince didn't rescue the damsel in distress and they didn't live happily ever after...
For this is the real world, where happiness is a made up emotion...
The prince ran off with the maid and the damsel sold her soul for a love that wasn't worth having...
Life - blood, sweat, and tears....but mostly blood...
No more hide-and-seek...here I am......
Open your heart
