Late Summer - Early Winter Poem by Marilyn Lott

Late Summer - Early Winter

Don’t you love the red
That come with autumn leaves?
They turn such beautiful colors
Before a wild windy breeze

Clinging to their branches
As long as they can hold on
Then the air is simply full of them
For the wind is just too strong

You see every shade of red
Mixed with many others
Yellow is really quite popular
How I love those brilliant colors

Mixed with flowers from summer
That stretch up to the sky
Blending with many shades
It’s a joy I cannot deny

I think it’s natures finest
Leaves and flowers blend
Late summer, early winter
A treat that nature sends!
