Latitude Adjustment Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Latitude Adjustment

Verse 1:
Every day I have my nose to the grindstone,
Just trying to make myself a decent living.
Now we all know that I am not alone,
In this career world that is unforgiving.
All day long I work my fingers to the bone,
To provide a good life for my family.
I'll work until my children are grown,
And hope that they will appreciate me.

Chorus:
I just need to get away and take a break,
I need a vacation for heaven's sake.
I need to find some more motivation,
As I travel to a different location.
I must avoid this work week punishment,
As I go get a latitude adjustment.

Verse 2:
I can't stand working through the day,
When there's so much going on out there.
Even though I have to earn my pay,
At this point I just no longer care.
Up the corporate ladder I had to climb,
Now I'm ready to come back down.
I just realize that it is now time,
To pack up and get out of town.

Chorus:
I just need to get away and take a break,
I need a vacation for heaven's sake.
I need to find some more motivation,
As I travel to a different location.
I must avoid this work week punishment,
As I go get a latitude adjustment.
