Lay It On Me Poem by Katherine Bryce

Lay It On Me

another day passes
but yet I don't care
it's always too much
so hard to bare

I usually find strength
in what brings me down
but this time I can't
for the sake of this town

I think I've lost
my hopes and dreams
only because
of the way it seems

my pain and hope
are far too much
I can't have one
without the other's touch

it seems as though
the run in pairs
but all I feel is
is all the scares

what fools in this world
would rather see it dead
then wake up every morning
waiting to be lead

I'm nothing special
but I take in the pain
and everyone else
steps forward to gain

no worries for me
because I'll take you're shame
just weigh it all on me
even the lame

I see it now
it's all so clear
I'll take the pain
without a tear
