Lay Your Head On My Shoulder Poem by norman hale

Lay Your Head On My Shoulder

Lay your head on my shoulder
Let those tears run down your cheek
Hold me as you tremble
Then let me have a peak

Let me wipe away those tears
As we talk about your hurting
Let me console you My child
I'll close that painful curtain

Take away those fears
And throw them in the trash
The longer you hold on to them
The more your emotions will crash

Let me hold you My child
Tight in My embrace
And I'll wipe away your worries
Never leaving a single trace

Lay your head on my shoulder
And tell me of your fears
Then slowly we'll go through them
Like a trucker going through gears

So take away those burdens
And throw them all away
Then open up your heart
For Gods love is here to stay
