Lazarus Heart Poem by Dani Arrow

Lazarus Heart

Rating: 5.0

Amber hair and eyes of jade
Drew the silver lines of fate
Onto my arm, free from all harm
Reassured it's not too late

Souls can find the truth in wine
I found mine in every line
Straight from the start, into my heart
Praying for a single sign

Every lovesong is a prayer
Cast, with hope, into the air
Somehow that night, luck on my side
Strong enough to make it there

For a dead heart singing rhymes
Lazarus in modern times
Set to survive, given new life
Mercy for forgotten crimes

For a sweet and tender kiss
For the heartbeat I have missed
Just for a smile, just for a while
I have tasted purest bliss
