At times like this, metered and divisional,
It's easy to concede the while away,
Every act is deemed to be provisional,
Why bother? Dawn. Another day.
I can't recall after Nagasaki,
Did they ask, "Damn it, what's the point? "
Did the extra mile appear as quacky
As though to try would be to mess the joint?
Yet, only resurrection wins the day,
Peering up, pressing on, advance,
Make it better, e'en transform the way,
Don't give evil or stupidity a chance.
So here we are amidst the viral pain,
I say, "Lead on! " Let's raise the bar again.
