Learn To Say No, And Prioritize Yourself. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Learn To Say No, And Prioritize Yourself.

The truth is clear, a simple plea:
You cannot be for all to see.
Each face you meet, a different view,
No single act will see them through.

Don't guess their thoughts, their hidden sighs,
They often have their own surprise.
No need to blame, no need to fret,
An imperfect human, you have met.

Your 'no' is strong, a gentle shield,
Protecting what you hold revealed.
Your time, your strength, a precious thing,
For you to keep, for you to sing.

'I cannot now, ' a honest sound,
Your own needs first, on solid ground.
Not always there, a constant light,
Just when it's good, and feels just right.

No savior's cape, no hero's quest,
Your own life's path, put to the test.
Your hobbies call, your health takes hold,
A richer story to unfold.

What do you want, what makes you glow?
Let your own spirit start to grow.

A wave of feeling, you can ride,
Disappointments cast them all aside.
A little guilt may softly creep,
But soon it fades, secrets to keep.

Some may push back, a stormy sound,
It means your new strong self is found.
Your journal holds what you can see,
Your needs, your worth, eternally.

Learn To Say No, And Prioritize Yourself.
