When I was very young
I was hard set
On falling in love with anyone
I could forget
(Preferably hung)
But not that appealing-
I just wanted to fall in love
For the feeling.
When I got bit older
I said to myself- LOOK,
At least get someone half useful,
Who can perhaps cook-
Or someone warmer or colder
(So you can learn too)
Or if they tell jokes on the first date,
Then they’ll do.
Five years on from that
And I made a choice-
That in fact I needed a really great man
To in God rejoice.
So I decorated my flat
And made it pretty,
And instead of searching the towns
I went out to the city.
Another six years flew
And more men came,
But alas, none of them was any different-
They were all the same.
Until I met you,
While I was cooking.
I think the secret all along
Was to stop looking.

Wonderful! Very creative, flowing, content in unity, and a prolific last line that completes the poem superbly! The refreshing simplicity and appropriate word choice also makes this poem excellent. 10++++
