Leave It Poem by Francis Duggan

Leave It

Leave it to others to compete for money and fame
So many does wish for to become a great name
Just leave it to them for success to compete
And for attention where their sort socialize and meet
In an age when self promotion has become an in thing
And so many nowadays their own praises does sing
The aspirational all too willing others to impress
By bragging in public of their material success
The wealthy and famous the masses admire
And to be just like them so many desire
It seems like material success and it's trappings has been taken too far
When people are admired more for the size of their home or their car
Than the kind and compassionate who every day sow karma's good seed
By helping those who are of helping in need.
