Leaves - Poem by Michelle Freeman

Like paper just carried
In wind
Like dancers just twirling
To music
Like children just playing
Outside

Just clinging for life
To branches
Just shaking with cold
To the wind
Just rustling with song
To its passing

So bright like an emerald
So yellow like ripened fruit
So dry like bare bones

Like paper just carried
In the wind

Like tears just falling
From your eyes

Like fancy just moving
Through my mind
