Left Us Broken Poem by delilah contrapunctal.... yes, that's how I intended to spell it.........

Left Us Broken

in a place of jackals... counting by ones and twos
triumvirates circle,
claim a standoff
as overhead a cloud of longing peals...casting an umbra of cacophony
though none are miscreants,
the velocity of each raptor seems
another translucent miscalculation...
.... legion
or merely platoon,
squadrons swarm
driven....
propelled...perhaps by the squawking impetus of those whose live birth
came to an unpredictable halt,
frozen.... opaque....
songs stifled yet unbearably loud....
how much is illustration in the form of overlay after overlay....
scrape away at the layers of pigment
to find a stillness....penetrable...
joyous....ah, pigeons in the gearbox....

this one disappeared...now to see if it is once again in place on the list of new poems...and that I am not credited with writing works that another poet has written....time and tide and all that considered '>) ......I have not kid-neaped anything, nor have I ebbed when I should've floed.....strange goings on here this evening, most strange.....things bounding about on little hare's feet, one might say...'>)
