Lessons Taught Within This Self Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Lessons Taught Within This Self

Lessons taught within this self
A path of many virtues
Journeys of many aspects
Roaming upon the great unknown
That for which shall make me stronger

The illusion of perfection, I regress
Never striving to be the best
Only myself and what I can achieve
An enigmatic force is what I truly believe
Unpredictability, my throne of dreams

So much learning, never ending in dreams
Virtues endless that is what I believe
The unknown the ultimate roam
Enigmatic ventures, is what I seize
Growing stronger, in this kingdom of dreams

A personal adventure needs to grow
Going beyond well beyond my own expectations go
Staying humble in the most earnest of ways
Yet, having confidence in where I will grow from today

Thriving on an endless road
Every single direction my own
Only being the best of me
Setting out to set this mind free

Lessons will always be taught
Knowledge keeps on going
So many journeys straight ahead
In the greater unknown
Making me stronger than ever before

Simplicity is too limited
I want more
Complication is fun to solve
Puzzle me, my thoughts they grow
Feed me knowledge and feed me more

These very thoughts
Will always have endless room to roam

I admit I am taught by life
Yet, in my own perspective, though…
