Let Go Poem by Carike Klokow

Let Go

I touch your face it's drenched with tears
i thought you'd be mine for years
Even though it hurts me so, i have to let you go.
This heart is torn and i'm not sure
of how i'm gonna close this door
To follow you is not my game
you leave me with your name.

Now it's time to say good-bye
and let you go before i cry.
To live without you i must do
to know it's the best thing i can do for you.
Your blue eyes flashing through my head,
your scent still lingering on my bed,
your lipstick on my whiskey glass,
i thought this love was meant to last.

So now your gone and i'm still hear,
till this day i carry a tear.
Hoping that i'll see you soon
i wish upon every full moon,
to touch tour face and give a cheer,
to lie you down and hold you near,
to watch you smile just for a while
and to think that maybe someday
you'll come back and stay,
does relieve this pain,
and turns this loss into a gain.
