Let It Snow Poem by Edwina Reizer

Let It Snow

There's an approaching storm a-brewin'
and the winds will drive it here.
I feel it in my chilled-out bones.
I sense it in the atmosphere.
There's nothing to do but await its arrival
and tend to inside things.
I pass the window every hour or so
and I look for openings
in the clouds so ominous and drear.
And I wish that I could steer
the direction of the storm that's brewin'
but I know it's my home it is pursuin'.

Well, what can I say except
'this should not be.'
for I came down south to keep myself warm.
But Mother Nature knows not what I seek
so with me she does not conform.
So here I am in the heart of Dixie
awaiting a cold snowstorm.
Pretty soon now the winds will blow.
Let it snow already, let it snow.
