Let Me Feel Alive Poem by Ridah Ellahi

Let Me Feel Alive

Rating: 4.3

Hold my hand,
And touch me now.
Tell me you love me.
Make me believe it somehow.

Hold my hand,
Release me of the pain.
Tell me it’s genuine,
My love will not go in vain.

Hole my hand,
And look into my eyes.
Your glare can’t meet mine,
Now that I know your lies.

Hole my hand,
And tell me it was true.
When you cried and said,
My world begins and ends at you.

Hold my hand,
Make the terror go away.
Rescue me from my misery.
With your love, let me sway.

Hole my hand,
And tell me you meant it.
When you declared your undying love for me,
You didn’t just invent it.

Tell me it bothers you,
When I cry at your feet.
Tell me it bothers you,
When I hold you and weep.

Please tell me you loved me.
That I could make your heart beat.
Release me of my dilemma,
Don’t let me taste defeat.

You are the string that bounds me to life,
That holds it all together.
Cut it lose and forget you,
Can’t imagine that, I’d never.

I’d die, I’d burn, I’d perish,
Whatever you want me to be.
I’d do whatever you want,
Just for a minute, love me.

Let me feel a minute of freedom,
Let me feel a minute of happiness.
Then take it all away like you already did.
Throw me back into this darkness.

But for that one minute,
Let me enjoy life.
Let me feel happy.
Let me feel alive.

Haiya! This is a good one. Perfectly captures the desperation of the one wanting love. Mmhh! We feel that way most of the times, don't we?
