Let Me Fly Or I Shall Die...

Rating: 5.0

‘'Let me fly or I shall die''
It was made of all scintillating gold,
Pretty, captivating, entrancing and cold,
A splendid castle or a bastion should it be called,
Each eye rested on it, for it was bright and bold,
Every girl's envy, each heart's it was desire,
Enthralled with covetuousness, rivals burned in fire,
But for the one who was residing inside,
More of a cage it was, than a warm fireside,
With yearning in her eyes, she kept gazing sky,
‘'please let me live! Please let me fly! ''
The one who looked could see, grandeur and glitter,
For the bird encaged inside, this abode was all bitter,
Though most succulent food was given to eat,
Even the fairest attire could not, the desire to fly beat,
Visible were the fences of coruscating chrome,
Was this her shelter? Was this a home?
They said you have all, what else should we grant?
‘'the riches is not my desire! This is not my want!
I am not made to stay confined,
Allow me to be me, myself be defined
Take away all the possessions, you had me buy,
Please let me fly! Or i shall die!
The clod I am, being rustic is my real,
I want to be with bad, rogues, surreal
For the filth we carry inside cannot be hidden by a barb,
Why should I clad then in the false virtuous garb?
Flaunting in diamond, ruby and sapphire,
That is not me! That is not my desire!
My soul suffocates, being among the pretenders,
If rusty is our iron, why to sham our metal's gender?
Spree is my happiness, until my soul is free,
I ache to smile for real, I ache for real glee..
Clip my wings, cut my hands, fill my eyes with burning sand,
I am a voice, not a being, I ‘ll keep echoing in your land"..
