Let Me Have My Eyes Blind Poem by Ponniah Ganeshan

Let Me Have My Eyes Blind

Let me have my eyes blind
Not to see the faces of the people merciless
Not to read the news so painful to heart
Let me have my ears deaf
Not to hear the voices of the helpless
Not to be polluted
Not to listen to what is baseless.

As though I am blessed with eyesight
And with no hearing aid,
I wish I were blind and deaf.
Cause' the world is so made of sordid things
With people dishonest and selfishness.
Oh, my Lord take me away from this world
And let me pass into nothingness.
