Let Me Love You Phonetically! Poem by Jainab Tabassum Banu

Let Me Love You Phonetically!

Look into my eyes--
The most used, but unacknowledged speech organ of all.
Read between the lines
And conform to my unspoken words.

Can't comprehend what I mean?
Let me come closer to your ear
And say it out with a dulcet tone.
The continuants will freeze your senses.

My aspirated desires seek your attention,
Lend me your ear
Listen to my heart beats that create plosion When you rest your head on my heart.

You push me back with your fingertips
And try to release yourself from my arm-shackle!
Then let me grab your neck
And conquer the land with love.

Still hesitant? Still distant?
Forget approximants and
Let the lips get locked together
And create a bilabial consonant.

The highs and lows of each sound
Will get amalgamated.
Listen to the symphony and
Surrender yourself to me!

My dear,
Come hither,
Let me love you passionately,
Let me love you phonetically!
