Hey let’s take a ride
Let’s talk for a while.
Even if we cry,
Let’s try not to lie.
I've given it my best,
To try and pass your test.
But now I go to get this off my chest
You were better than the rest,
But now I think
I could have asked for less.
Sorry that I have to say to you
I thought what we had was true
But something’s aren’t supposed to last.
I think we have had our chance
But it wasn’t meant to be
We tried to fix this
But neither of us were happy.
We lied behind our smiles.
The ones that only lasted a while.
Yet you do not want to see the truth
That the one for me is not you.
And the one for you is not me
So I think that we should let this be.
Be what it was and end it at that,
Not try to wish for what we had.
Because the past cannot return
And the future cannot rewind.
It’s time to stop wishing in our minds.
That once we get passed this
We can leave it all behind.
Three years have passed,
And it’s still the same thing.
Nothing has changed.
It’s time to stop trying
Let’s learn and let love die
Cause what we have between us.
Is nothing more than a lie.
I’m sorry that it had to come to this
But it’s the life I had before
That’s the only thing I miss.
