Let The Candles Burn Poem by stephen robert the jar sutton

Let The Candles Burn

Let the candles burn through the night

Let it burn now ever so bright

Let it flicker away but never ever go out

May it remind me to never live without a doubt

Let the candles burn and remind me of the truth

Of you and me when we were in our youth

Light up all the room with candles for each year

And may we think of a time when we would shed no tear

While the candle burn I will have company

Light those candles so I can see

Burn away in my room tonight

And forever make it bright

Burning softly in the breeze

Flickering candles putting me at ease

Slowly they go out one by one

Now I know that we are one

The candles were my burning life

Now they are gone I shall take flight

So let the candles burn in heaven instead

And put my thoughts and dreams to bed
