My Best Friend Poem by stephen robert the jar sutton

My Best Friend

MY BEST FRIEND

IN MEMORY OF RICHARD HOWARTH

In times of need
You came to me
A friend of mine
You will ever be

In school days
We worked and played
We lived our lives
And never strayed

Listening to music
Of the day
Sharing experiences
In our own special way

We grew up
And lived our own lives
Both moved away
And married our wives

We both had children
Our own family home
Giving up freedom
Nowhere to roam

In time we reconnected
Together again
Years have passed by us
But were still the same

Supporting each other
By text or by phone
Just letter us know
That were not alone
