Following The King Poem by stephen robert the jar sutton

Following The King

FOLLOWING THE KING

From a teen in the seventies
I discovered a man
With a fine voice
And I became a fan

They called him the king
Of a rock and roll age
As told by the media
Splashed on a front page

Elvis Presley was a legend
So the papers say
His songs and his movies
Known to this day

I followed his life
From Tupelo to Graceland
I saw almost his entire home
And part of his land

I went to sun records
Followed his musical career

The foundation of his life
And felt him near

Graceland was wonderful
A fine place to see
But the best of the rooms
Was the jungle room for me
