Let Us Make Things Better Poem by Rodney Dufault

Let Us Make Things Better

I am trying to find myself like I am on a walkabout,
I am trying to find a way for us to finally talk it out.
I am trying to get rid of the pain, instead of always block it out,
then why does it always come back to I just want to knock you out?

This is not the way that I feel I am supposed to be,
always hurting the people that I hold the most close to me.
You could have gone with anyone but yet you have chose to be
more than just another faceless, nameless, invisible ghost to me.

I try so very hard to do everything right for you.
I would even steal the moon from the night for you.
Nothing has been able to stop me since I set my sight on you.
Fifteen years, and I can still feel the light from you.

You have helped me become a better man than I was before I met you,
because you loved me no matter if I did or I did not let you.
This life of mine, without you, I do not believe that I could get through.
I am just trying to make us better, I never want to upset you.
