Lethargy Poem by susette varga

Lethargy

If only we knew what was really going on
In this crazy Place called society
Give the poor man enough money
For a pie and a pint
Keeping him down and out of sight
He should be revolting in the streets
Over our Governments lies and bare faced cheek!

Sadly however he is worn out
Slogging his life away 5 days a week
Often sometimes more

He is thus too shattered
To cause a fuss
Instead all too often
He turns to drink and drugs

He blots out his plight
Keeps his head down Feeling useless to boot
Not a lot he can do
Not enough To join together
For the common good!

The rich getting fat on the fruits of his labour
The poor losing hope for a better future
He knows this is happening he is no fool
But unless we unite what can he do?

The cost of existing is weighing him down
Can't cover his bills or meet his family's needs
No holidays for his wife or son
His wage will not stretch to go so far

No sunshine no vitamin D all he feels is lethargy
Too tired to fight or kick up a fuss
The burden becoming too much for us

If only the country would strike for a day
And mess up this twisted economy
Together we are so much stronger than them
Where does mans commonsense come in?

United we could make the system fall down
Let us all trade our skills
Look after our own community

A vision proposed by Noam chomsky
To rid ourselves of a useless monetary
That serves only the fat cats and elite in a greedy Country
