Let's Be Honest, Darlin' Me Poem by Mohammad Younus

Let's Be Honest, Darlin' Me

Let's be honest, darlin' Me—
It's a war within, a clash of me and Me.
All those grand games that I lose
Make me wonder as Me always wins.

Me wears innocence like a cloak,
But I can see through;
Me is a poem I write.
So how can I ever stop these verses,
When it's not me, but you—Me—
conceiving each line?
Now I understand who is 'I Am'
And who is 'I Am Not.'

On your stage, I always play the villain,
While you're the hero—but I've got the scars.
Go on, you're the great actor, perform your role,
'Cause darling, you are The Truth—my essence.
