Lets Chat Awhile Poem by Esther Thornburg

Lets Chat Awhile

Lets chat awhile, country style
With a friend whose hair is silver lined.

Who tells of ways of his youthful days
Of wisdom learned the difficult way.

Lime-light, glitter and glare
Only holds a short seasons fair.

Took courage and will to search another line.
Had to guide the journey to a better find.

True worth is a treasure to refine.
It can pass the test of time.

With eyes filled with mercy, duty and grace
New meaning arrives to find its place.

Wisdom comes from where you find it.
There is always a story somewhere befind it.
