Lets Grow Old Together Poem by VaishakSeetharam Dattani

Lets Grow Old Together

Growing old together!

Life's toughest battles played with love,
You got magic out of every single dove,
My Anna was precious, she tasted clove,
Stories of past, Black coffee, that stove,
And now..
Back then was it not true love?

Letters & Postcards, mails, telegrams,
Sealed & Stamped, our pale photographs,
Composed songs and free time Choreographs,
To end in a straight line, your life in a Cardiogram..
Can't I have you? Or should I be happy withjust one autograph?

Year after year, comes so your Birthday,
Dating you, Is it the doomsday what Icelebrated this Friday?
Sleep doesn't come for me, so how do I see you in dreams?
Questions several I gather to ask you if ever we meet,
You make me whole, in life finding you once again has always been my goal.

Anna you precious soul, did I like a dice once just got you rolled,
Did I just sang that song for you - Let her go and you let her go?
Candles and Lanterns even in daytime, I light and make it glow,
Certain truths are just so hard to digest, so hard to swallow,
And I wonder if my hairs are just turning grey or are we growing old together?
