Letter Of Retribution Poem by pavitra singh

Letter Of Retribution

I wrote you a letter
On my withered skin
My wrinkled hands couldn't hold the pen
So,
I cut the words into my flesh
Using my overgrown dirty nails

Septic wounds give more emotions to my rhythm less words
And the old scars give a better contrast to my poetic verse

Remember the blue heart
You drew on my chest?
Which you later carved out,
Out of regrets! !
Hope you are keeping it safe
Pickled in that jar on your shelf

I write to ghosts & unhappy souls
To people gone and of forgotten lore
They never reply to my letters of mar
But i never expect them to either
For they dwell in hell, which is too far

But i do from you

This last rhyme that i write in blood
Is to let you know that water is thicker than mud
For it is the purity of your heart & soul
That makes you strong and better than the others
Stop hiding behind that curtain of lies
Under those long sleeves only your scars can hide
Come to me, all free
Bare your self
Your naked body
Your empty soul
Your aching heart
Your tired soles

Its time i send you this letter
Letter of retribution
