Letter To The Woman Poem by Corey Campbell (BlackChild)

Letter To The Woman

I met you and loved you,
but what does that mean?
Cause feelings you express,
it's not love it seems.

Am I always to blame,
when you are upset?
Is it always my fault,
Am I always the threat?

Do you listen and submit,
respect me as your man?
Or am I talking crazy, (your reason)
for not listening to what I'm sayin?

Is it your past,
the reason you can't believe.
That a man can love you,
without having something in his sleeve?

Is it your mother,
who dictated your life?
Corrupting you,
having you full of strife.

Could it be your father,
did he explain how to love a man?
Was he even around,
during your life span?

It dosen't matter,
but I would like to know.
What happened to your heart,
from long ago?
