Dear Uncle Kunle,
I once held resentment, bitterness, and grief
But now, I choose forgiveness, and a path to relief
I wished you harm, but now I wish you healing
From the damage that shaped you, and the pain you've revealing
You didn't know what it meant to be a man
The society had failed you, and damaged your plan
You couldn't give what you didn't have, pure love and care
And I couldn't expect a healthy relationship to share
I forgive you, not for your sake, but mine
To release the burden, and let go of the grudge's weight
I pity you now, not with resentment, but with sorrow
For the man you could've been, if only you had known better
Heal from the dysfunction, the wrong ideologies
Learn what it means to be a man, a good father, a good husband
Own up to your actions, take responsibility
And find the love and care that you never knew how to give
